In December 2017, the Valisana hospital center in Brussels decided to equip itself with a single, full and optimized EHR system by the end of 2018. The aim was both to meet the Belgian Meaningful Use Criteria (BMUC) laid down by the Ministry of Health and to turn that legal requirement into a driving force in order to completely harmonize and modernize its outdated technological mix. After careful consideration of the possible options with Sapristic, Valisana decided to implement the XperthisCare solution edited by Xperthis.
At the end of January 2018, Valisana and Sapristic teams took up the major challenge of fully implementing the new EHR system in both Valisana centers (corresponding to 4 sites), namely Valida (the rehabilitation center) and Sanatia (the psychiatric center) within 11 months. It was a large-scale project for the 350-bed hospital center becoming the first in Belgium to fully implement the new Xperthis EHR software solution from scratch.
We are very pleased to announce that this great collaboration has met the objectives on schedule and within budget. Since January 1, 2019, Valisana has equipped itself with a single, fully implemented and operational EHR system:
- On a complete functional scope (medical record, nursing record and electronic prescribing).
- With the most harmonized and standardized business process possible (in order to meet the users’ needs whilst reducing maintenance effort of the EHR system).
- Well integrated among Valisana’s application landscape and interfaced to the outside world.
We take our hat off to Valisana teams which remarkably took part in this great project and now autonomously use the EHR system. We also congratulate our team and that of Xpertis which had worked for 11 months alongside the hospital center. We are very proud of our work together!
